Don Everett Pereboom passed away on October‭ ‬28,‭ ‬2017,‭ ‬at the family home due to complications from congestive heart failure.‭  ‬He was‭ ‬79.

Don was a native Oklahoman,‭ ‬born in Okeene,‭ ‬Oklahoma on March‭ ‬19,‭ ‬1938.‭  ‬He served in the Army in Korea and was a proud veteran.‭  ‬He was an award winning and accomplished designer and painter.‭  ‬He had a keen interest in people,‭ ‬places and was a collector‭ ‬of sentimental objects.‭  ‬He was a loving father,‭ ‬a helpful friend and a smiling face to anyone that would stop and visit.‭  

He is survived by his wife,‭ ‬Joan Pereboom,‭ ‬of the home,‭ ‬and his children Lori and Leo Catanach of Haskell,‭ ‬Oklahoma,‭ ‬Ted and Susanne Pereboom of Hillsboro,‭ ‬Missouri,‭ ‬and his ex-wife,‭ ‬Janet Dennis of Haskell,‭ ‬Oklahoma,‭ ‬children Stephanie and Earl Smith of Enid,‭ ‬Oklahoma,‭ ‬Melanie Knier of Gatlinburg,‭ ‬Tennessee,‭ ‬Katrina and Jim Maughan of Stillwater,‭ ‬Oklahoma,‭ ‬sister Karen Etherington of‭ ‬Tulsa,‭ ‬Oklahoma,‭ ‬brother William and Vivian Pereboom of Littleton,‭ ‬Colorado,‭ ‬eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces,‭ ‬nephews and cousins.‭  ‬He is preceded in death by his parents,‭ ‬Erwin and Bernice Pereboom and his sister,‭ ‬Patricia Paul.‭  

A memorial service is scheduled at‭ ‬2‭ ‬pm,‭ ‬Wednesday November‭ ‬8,‭ ‬2017,‭ ‬at The Grace Place,‭ ‬802‭ ‬S Cleveland St,‭ ‬Enid,‭ ‬Oklahoma.‭  ‬A potluck reception will follow if you would like to gather with the family.‭
