Welcome to the memorial page for

Eddie Dean Zink

August 20, 2016

Eddie Dean Zink, 60, died Aug. 20, 2016, in Arkansas City. He was born March 15, 1956, in Fairfax, OK, to Cecil and Wanetta Zink.  His childhood was spent in Shidler, OK, where he enjoyed the rural life and attending Shidler schools.   In 1990, Ed married Kathy Beasley. They settled in Ingalls, KS, where they raised two daughters, Melissa and Nicole.  Ed supported his family by working in various feed yards until he ultimately started his own pest extermination business.  In 2007, Ed met the woman he knew was the love of his life, Linda M. Befort.  Friends always knew that they could count on Ed for a fun game of pool, as it was one of his favorite pastimes.  If he was not working or playing pool, it was never hard to find Ed. He could always be found boating and fishing on the river. The only thing he loved more than fishing was his family. Sharing the love of this river fun with his large extended family brought much joy and many good times for the entire family.   Ed was an excellent example of kindness and generosity, as he would truly “give you the shirt off his back” with no expectation of repayment.  Survivors include his daughters, Melissa Beasley and Nicole Beasley, and five grandchildren: Nateara, Alyiah, Keelyn, Sean and Destiny, all of Garden City, KS.   Ed also was blessed to have two sisters with whom he was very close: Becky Zink; and Mary Katcher, and her husband, Dan, all of Newkirk, OK.  Ed also was very close to his nephews and their families, including Brian Brown of Newkirk, Chris Jones of Ponca City, and Cody Jones and Tyson Katcher, both of Arkansas City.  He will be dearly missed by all of these beloved relatives and also by his loyal companion, his dog, Sissy.
