Patricia “Pat” Ann (Choate) Wayman, of Owasso/Enid, passed away, in her sleep, from complications arising out of her long battle with vascular disease.  Pat ascended to eternal life with Jesus early the morning of Wednesday, August 16, 2017.  Pat was a resilient and loving mother, grandmother, sister, niece, spouse, friend and woman of faith. She was born October 4, 1939 in Lovell, OK to Mat E. Choate and Lydia (Jones) McGann. And raised by her grandparents, Bert and Minnie Choate.  She grew up with her grandparents, aunts and uncles in Hennessey. She attended Hennessey High School. Pat’s large and loving family was her most important earthly treasure.  Her family, although geographically dispersed, was always in her prayers, on her mind, and close to her heart.  Regardless of her own tribulations, her daily purpose always included loving and praying for every one of her family and friends. She enjoyed her bobbles, pictures, and memories, always wanting nothing more than to see her loved ones living well, caring for each other, and loving God.

Pat’s talents were many. She was wise, witty, keen, and always exuded a beautiful giving heart. A “hard worker”, she never met a project that she couldn’t handle. She designed, built, and decorated single and multifamily homes with her husband Jerry in Owasso, Tulsa, and surrounding areas during the 80s and 90s. Her Real Estate career sprung from humble beginnings as a house cleaning service for apartment living and new home construction before she transitioned into an accomplished Realtor, Broker and Appraiser.  Always looking to grow her community contribution, she became a Licensed Private Detective, Process Server and Special Deputy to the Court. She loved what she did and excelled at it.  Despite very inauspicious beginnings, she ascended in life, but ALWAYS lent a helping hand where needed, especially where family and friends were concerned. After a full-life of work, primarily in the Owasso/Tulsa area, she retired to a custom-built home at Grand Lake, OK; spent time in an RV at Quartsite, AZ; lived in a modest home in Enid; ventured to Charlotte, NC near her son Dennis, and finally found her way back to Enid to be closer to “Sisters” Peggy (Choate) Rogers and Donna (Choate) Ellson, only daughter, Kippie (Fuksa) Lockridge, and son Kimbert Fuksa.

She loved beauty and finding it – whether it was in her career, simply going fishing, mining for gold, hunting for precious stones, discovering that perfect piece of décor, making a home sparkle, or the simple beauty captured in the thousands of pictures she took of her loved ones and her life.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Matt Elmus Choate and Lydia (Jones) McGann, her sisters Diane (McGann) Barnes and MaDonna (Choate) Adams, her brothers Michael Duane Choate, David Leroy Choate, Danny Ray Choate and Eddy Bert Choate, and her husband of over 33 years Jerry Wayman.  She is survived by her sisters Donna (Choate) Ellson, Peggy (Choate) Rogers , Sharron (McGann) Parker, Carrol Jean Choate, Connie Jo Choate, Joyce Lynn (Choate) Morman, Sally Jane Choate, and Anita Louise (Choate) Harris; her six children and their spouses: Kippie (Fuksa) Lockridge, Kimbert Fuksa, Bobby & Eve Wantland, Jay & Suzanne Wantland, Rick & Marla Wantland, and Dennis & Karen Wantland; her 26 grandchildren: Jimmy Meek, Barbara (Meek) Benton , John Meek, Emily Lockridge, Aaron Fuksa, Matt Wantland, Trisha (Wantland) Leinweber, Bethany (Wantland) Alred, Jonathan Wantland, Rachel Wantland, Auburn Wantland (Noel), Josiah Wantland, Charles Wantland, Ericca Wantland, Tabitha Wantland, Joshua Wantland, Austin Wantland,  Zechariah Wantland, Nick Wantland, Allison Wantland, Brad Wantland, Katelyn Wantland, Trevor Wantland, Sidney Wantland, Riley Wantland; and 19 great grandchildren: Robert Meek, James Meek, Jesse Meek, Sarina Meek, Joseph Benton, Gabriel Benton, Elizabeth Benton, Maddison Wantland, Katy Wantland, Claire Wantland, Colby Leinweber, Dylan Leinweber, Haley Leinweber, Lilly Leinweber, Caden Alred, Michael Hendrick, Abigail Wantland, Chloe Wantland and her beloved cousins and friends.
