Elizabeth Dawson Obituary

Elizabeth “Liz” Wright (Beveridge) Dawson of Enid, OK passed away on June 24, 2019 and ferried o’er to her Highland welcome in Heaven. Liz was born on September 29, 1939 in Edinburgh, Scotland to David and Margaret Smith (McLeod) Beveridge. Liz immigrated to the United States in 1958 and married Larry E. Dawson, on July 4th, 1970. Liz was a bookkeeper, a homemaker, and enjoyed bingo, bowling and Las Vegas with her pals. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-love, Agnes (Beveridge) Veitch. She is survived by her sister, May Beveridge and husband Larry Scott of Ladywell, Scotland, her brother, David Beveridge, of Bonnyrigg, Scotland, brother-in-law, Tich Veitch, of Bonnyrigg, Scotland and best pal, Myra Dillow, of Puyallup, Washington.

She is also survived by her daughter, Elaine (Dawson) Johns and husband Eddie of Enid, son Jeffrey Rudder, of California, son Derek Dawson and wife Andrea of Georgia, granddaughters, Jennifer Johns and husband John Nuttall, Julie (Johns) Porterfield and husband Justin, and Maggie Dawson, grandsons, Andy Johns, Will Dawson, Justin, Kaleb and Kiowa Rudder, great-grandsons, Corbin Johns and wife Miranda, and Diego Porterfield, great-granddaughters, Ceara Johns-Adams and Alicia Porterfield, her beloved niece, Audrey Corbett and husband Charlie, of Bonnyrigg, Scotland and nephew, David Beveridge and wife Pam of Bonnyrigg, Scotland and other close extended family members. A private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park, Inc. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Golden Oaks and Circle of Love Hospice who loved and provided the best care for Liz.  Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
