I knew Karon when she first began working at the clinic, as a transcriptionist. The Dr’s recorded info which Karon typed on paper, then placed into the patient’s records.

I could see Karon’s potential from the beginning. Because the clinic did nothing to encourage civilians to get promotion within the clinic, I encouraged Karon to get a position at another place on base. A couple years later she did get a position at the Wing Bldg. Some time later she returned to the Clinic, in a higher position, working near where Tommy Club worked.

I always enjoyed visiting with Karon. Although I retired in 2002, my wife and I have fond memories of Karon.

Since our assignment at Vance AFB in 1988, Nancy and I were blessed to know Karon, working with her and enjoying her friendship. Although gone, she has left a lasting impression with all of us and her work with the Medical Group and Wing at Vance will be felt for many, many years to come. We will certainly miss her caring and quiet demeanor. May God bless and keep her!
