Funeral services for Nolen Ray Harsh, were held December 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Evangel Assembly of God Church with Pastor Lester Lowry officiating.  Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Mr. Harsh was born on july 15, 1939 in Longdale, Oklahoma, the son of Ralph and Ianza Jones Harsh and died December 1, 2010 at Fairview Hospital.  He was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1957.  He attended OSU where he received his master's of Education Degree.  He was a school teacher at Longfellow Junior High School for 2 years.  He then was a professor of Astronomy and Physics at Northwestern OSU in Alva.  He was awarded teacher of the year at Enid High School before retirement.  Mr. Harsh attended Evangel Assembly of God Church where he was a Sunday school teacher for the Sanctuary Class.  Me was a member of OEA, Poetry Society in Enid. He also wrote and sold books to China.  His passion in life was reading and writing.  Survivors include his sister, Verta and husband Eddie Miles of Chester; nieces, Kathy Dunham of Van Alstein, Texas, Carolyn Renegar of Levelland, Texas; nephew, Mark Miles of Chester; numerous great-nieces and nephews and cousins.  He is also survived by his special friend Mary Adams of Enid.  Mr. Harsh was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Iola Harsh.  Memorials may be made in Mr. Harsh's memory to the Enid Public School Foundation with Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service coordinating.
