Patrick (Kritter) McHugh, 71
Patrick Sherman McHugh was born in Dodge City, KS, on August 12, 1947, to Virgil and Betty (Hayward) McHugh and passed this life in Enid, OK, on August 31, 2018.He was cremated under the direction of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. A special “Kritter Gathering” will be held Saturday, September 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dr. John Toles will officiate at the Committal in the Columbarium at 3:00 p.m.Pat traveled extensively, mostly by the end of his thumb. He saw 42 of the contiguous 48 states. Throughout his life he worked in the meatpacking, manufacturing and construction industries. While living in Alabama, he came to be known as Kritter. He moved to Enid in 2002, and after being placed on disability was well-known around town, riding his recumbent tricycle and recycling aluminum cans. Pat is survived by a brother, Michael (Maggie) McHugh, El Dorado, KS; a sister, Paula (A.J.) Nightengale, Enid; four nephews, Michael (Peter) McHugh, New York; Mark McHugh, El Dorado; Andrew (Jelka) Shearon and Allen (Christy) Shearon all of Enid; one aunt, several cousins, two great nieces, a great nephew, and a number of friends including Joy Pritchett. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Kenwood Manor for the special care given to him over the last days of his life, and also for Hospice Circle of Love for assisting in their hour of need.
