Peggy Owens Obituary

Peggy Joan Bales Hand Owens was born in Willis, Oklahoma on January 23, 1934. Peggy entered Heavens gates on June 16th, 2019, at Alliance Health Care Ponca City, Ok.

Graveside Memorial will be held July 13th 2019 at 10:00a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens Ponca City, Ok.

A loving mother and homemaker. Peggy was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially divinity and candy over the holidays . She loved taking care of people, visiting with family and friends, gardening, and was always there for the wild cats and kittens of the neighborhood making sure they had food, shelter and water. Peggy worked for many years as a nurse's aide caring for patients with Ponca City hospital under the guidance of the Sisters of St Joseph.

Peggy married Henry Hand on April 14, 1951 and from their marriage came two children, Henry (Leon) Hand of Kaw City, Ok. and Daughter Pam Knauf of Foss, Ok.

After the death of Henry, Peggy later married Frank Owens in August of 1987 . Frank and Peggy enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and going fishing in there retired years.

Peggy is survived by her children Henry Leon Hand and Wife Laverne, Kaw City, Oklahoma. Pam Knauf of Foss Oklahoma. 2 brothers, James Bales, Ponca City, Ok. Kurtis Bales, Tonkawa Ok. 2 sister, Mr. & Mrs. Ted Mitch (Judy) Ponca City, Ok. LaVanda Garrett of Madill Ok. Grand Children, Mr. & Mrs. Fayne (Laci Bristow) Sawatzky, Mr. & Mrs. Phillip (Kelsi), Jesse Hand and Abby Hand. Great Grandchildren, Darienne Bailey, Cadence Sawatzky, Jaycee South, Jax South, Conner Hand, and Jesse Hand.Jr, and Mother of Abby Hand, Lisa Hopkins.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Hand & Frank Owens 1 child, Michael Wayne. her Parents, James & Ruth Bales. Sisters Cozetta Hand, Patsy Owens, Son in law Alvin Knauf, her parents James & Ruth Bales. Sister in law Sandra Bales. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
