Ronald Lee Slavens, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Osage County, was born on July 10, 1950 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and passed away on September 11, 2018 in Ponca City. He was the son of the late Robert Paul Slavens and Ruth Mae Thompson-King. He is preceded in passing by his father, Robert Paul Slavens, his mother, Ruth Mae Thompson-King, his brother, Michael Eugene Slavens and sister Kathryn Mae Davis. Survivors include three brothers, Robert Allen Slavens of Fort Smith, Thomas Leon Slavens of Eufaula, Paul Junior Slavens of Ponca City; children, Jody Lynn Slavens of Ponca City, Rhonda Lee Parker of Jenks, Amy Dawn Smith of Ponca City, and Christy Mae Akers of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Ron prided himself in his sheet metal fabrication and carpentry work. He served 3 plus years in the United States Armed Forces. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing pool, fishing, creating folk art and traveling on dirt roads in the country. He spent most of his life in Ponca City, Tonkawa, and the surrounding areas. Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kildare Baptist Church, 1090 Church Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma. He will be missed by those that loved and knew him.
