Whilley McCormick of Ponca City passed away at his home in Ponca City
at 2:15 p.m. on July 19, 2018. He was 56. Whilley was born in Clinton,
Okla., on Jan. 30, 1962 to his parents, Thelma Lee Bailey and Whilley
Gene McCormick. Whilley enjoyed fishing, camping, cookouts, eating (he
definitely had an appetite!) and taking his buddy Steve’s boat out to
fish. He loved kids and animals, especially dogs, and they loved him
just as much! He was not afraid to ask for anything, as he always
said, “A closed mouth don’t get fed.” He was funny and quick-witted,
and he joked around and laughed a lot. He would tease people by
saying, “There it ain’t” and he would get us every time — we were
gullible to his wit. But his best traits were his big heart (he would
give the shirt off his back, even if it wasn’t his) and his love for
dogs and kids. There was such a purity and honesty about his
relationship with them. He is survived by his son, Jeremy McCormick of
Ponca City, and brother Clyde Wayne McCormick. He is also survived by
his bonus family, including Ann Marie Robert’s grandkids; as well as
his bonus daughters Jessica Roberts, Christa Roller, Jamie Roller and
Cari Roberts, and bonus grandkids Serenity, Hannah, Aaron, Caleb,
Carma, Madison, Faith, Gunnar and Olivia, and many more friends. He is
preceded in death by his parents, brother Roy Dee McCormik, and his
late companion, Ann Marie Roberts. A service will be held at a later
date. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of Amy Stittsworth
Funeral Service and Cremation Directors of Enid. Online condolences
