Bert Willis "Gannon" Smith

Funeral services for Bert Willis “Gannon” Smith, 46, Enid resident, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 am in Garland Road Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Benson officiating. Committal prayers and intement will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Gannon was born on November 5, 1973 in Oklahoma City, the son of Bert and Danella (Dinky) Smith, and passed away suddenly on January 27, 2020 at his residence. He was raised and educated in Enid, Graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1991. Gannon attended Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, and later Oklahoma State University. Gannon came to accept Jesus when he was seven years old. Throughout his life, he was interested in improving his mind, body and spirit. Gannon received his Black Belt in Karate and had many friends. He maintained reaching his goals and dreams. Independent spirit. In his 20’s, Gannon was diagnosed with a mental illness. This changed and affected every aspect of his life and his family. He came home to live. Gannon was gentle, sensitive and a forgiving person. His family saw his determination and perseverance as he struggled to “be healthy”. Gannon’s favorite scripture was Psalm 18; 1-2: “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler and the Lord of my salvation, and my high tower.”
