Betty Hensley Obituary

A graveside service to Celebrate the Life of Betty Jean Hensley, 81, of Newkirk, OK will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at the Newkirk Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Mozeik officiating.  She entered eternal rest on Monday, November 16, 2020.  Family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.  Stittsworth Funeral Home of Enid, OK is overseeing the arrangements (stittsworthfuneralservices.com. Born in Compton, CA, Betty was the daughter of the late Gordon and Jeanette Kilmer.  She married the late Louis (Pat) Hensley and moved to Lake Charles, LA in 1964.  After living in several other cities and states, they settled in Newkirk, OK. Betty, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was an accomplished violinist and a certified x-ray technician in her early years.  Betty loved being part of her Saint John’s Lutheran Church, collecting beautiful cut glassware and attending auctions to find great bargains.  But most of all, she loved her family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband and grandson Donnie Hensley and is survived by her children Lynette(Kevin) Connelly and their children Justin and Corey, all of Aiken, SC; Scott(Jennifer) Hensley of Yukon, OK and their children Emily(Brandon) Mayfield of Edmond, OK, Joshua Layton of Oklahoma City, OK and Braden Hensley of Pawhuska, OK; Patrick(Julie) Hensley of Nowata, OK and their children Jessica(Rocky) Renfro of Tulsa, OK, Kassie and Mikayla Heeb of Omaha, NE; four great grandchildren Bonner Hensley, Elizabeth and James Mayfield and David Kline ; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her very special friends Lester Brockman of Blackwell, OK and Carolyn Kahle of Peckham, OK.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s honor to the Saint John’s Lutheran Church (www.nkbklutheran.com) or to Humanity Hospice (www.humanityhospice.com). Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
