Cherish Williams Obituary

Cherish Faith Williams passed from this earth on June 11, 2022

What made her different is what made her beautiful.

Cherish was born on December 2, 2006, in Shawnee Oklahoma, where she spent her early years with her mom, Ivy Simons and dad JJ Williams, and her half siblings Haylie and Jeremiah Turner. At the age of 7 Cherish and Ivy relocated to Blackwell Oklahoma. Cherish started attending Blackwell Elementary and she would have been a sophomore in high school this coming year. It was when Cherish was 8 when Ivy met Jim Simons and very quickly they became family. Cherish and Jim soon became inseparable. She was very special to him, and Jim treated Cherish like his own. Being Autistic and Blind limited the activities Cherish could participate in, but she did play softball with Karas game league in Blackwell. Ivy would be cheering her on in the stands and Jim was her assistant on the field. It was hard to say who was having more fun Jim or Cherish. Another favorite past time was swinging with different family members in the swing set at the family home or even school. She also loved music and dancing and being around her family. Cherish was the light of the family and had a smile that could bring light to any room she was in.
Survivors include her parents Ivy and Jim Simons and her brother Arthur Simons, all of the home. Her dad JJ Williams and her siblings Haylie and Jeremiah Turner. Her Aunt’s Monica Mitchell and Stephanie Williams all from Shawnee. Grandparents Dave and Chris Cassady of Blackwell and Cindy and Larry Gregson of Kaw City. Uncle Anthony Simons and Aunt Angela Botkin of Blackwell. Special cousins and built-in best friends, Madison, Chael, and Leon botkin all of Blackwell.

Cherish was proceeded in death by her paternal grandmother Kathleen Wood of Shawnee ok. Cherish and her grandmother had a very special bond.

Services are scheduled for June 17th 2022 at 2pm at the First Assembly of God Church in Blackwell Oklahoma, with Bill Mckissick officiating. Committal Prayers and Interment will follow in Blackwell Cemetery under the loving care of Amy Stittsworth funeral services.
