Colby Chan Smith, 23 years old, of Lamont, OK passed away on August 24, 2024, at 12:03 a.m. doing what he loved, hanging out with friends and enjoying the outdoors. Colby was born on June 6, 2001, in Ponca City, OK to Sarah Boyer and Justin Smith. Named after his Uncle Chan, the oldest son and second oldest in the family, Colby was an amazing son, brother, and friend. Colby graduated from Deer Creek-Lamont High School in 2020. He attended Heavy Equipment Colleges of America in Oklahoma City, OK before beginning his career at NCS, Inc. Colby’s nickname was Cheese. He loved his milk and his crocs! He had a love for life. He lived life to the fullest every day and was known for being a free-spirit and fearless! No REGERTS! Colby worked alongside his stepdad, Casey, and younger brothers Cutler and Clay at North Central Service, Inc out of Bemidji, MN as a heavy equipment operator. Colby loved spending time with his siblings, working with his brothers and being the protective brother to his sisters, Cassie and Chloe. He was known for his big heart and always being so truthful. Colby and his best friend since 3rd grade, Brendan Hembree, always had a good time when they were together, which was as often as they could find time away from work. In fact, Colby had many good friends, you could say he never met a stranger! Colby is survived by his parents, Sarah and Casey Boyer, Justin and Nicole Smith; siblings, Cassie, Cutler, Clay, and Chloe Smith, Dannica Boyer, Kysen and Logan Osburn, and Ali Clonts; grandparents, Carol and Bob Epperly, Charley and Sharon Highfill, Gary and Nina Smith and Leigh Allen; great grandmother, Carolyn Wyckoff, lots of loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Colby is preceded in death by his nanny, Glenda Branson, his great grandpa Renzie Wyckoff, great grandma Jane Highfill, and other dearly loved family members.Celebration of life services for Colby Chan Smith, 23, Lamont resident, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in the Lamont Event Center with Pastor Jeff McReynolds officiating.
