David Lee Wilson

David Lee Wilson was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on December 27, 1951 to Dudley & Geraldine Wilson. David grew up in Tonkawa, Oklahoma attending Tonkawa Public Schools most of his life. David met Lorna L Davidson the love of his life in April 1973. By August 10, 1973 they were married. Recently celebrating 50 years of marriage. Prior to their marriage Dave moved to Southern California for a couple of years staying with family and working in potato sheds. Once coming back to Oklahoma Dave started working in the oilfield in the early 1980’s.  His travels in the oilfield allowed them to venture all over Oklahoma Including Alva, Seiling, Waynoka, Enid and eventually settling and making their home in Blackwell Oklahoma in 1983.  David worked in the oilfield from 1975-1998 until opening his own carlot  South side Auto Sales. In 2004 the carlot was lost to a fire; Dave also worked at Champlin Motors, Dick Stanton Honda & David Stanley Auto. He even made salesman of the year a few times! Dave went back to the oilfield off and on until 2014 when he was hurt and sadly forced to retire. In 2010 Dave & Lorna moved to Ponca city, Oklahoma where they currently live today. Dave was an oilfield worker by knowledge and a fisherman by trade. Anyone that knew Dave-knew if he wasn’t home or at church he was fishing on his boat but always had to be home by 6:30 to watch Wheel of Fortune! On January 14, 2017 David was baptized into the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was a faithful member.Dave is survived by his wife Lorna of Ponca City, Oklahoma. His three children, Desiree (Wilson) Heskett of Edmond, Oklahoma. , Chad Wilson & Mike Mayer of Olsburg, Kansas, Joshua & Samantha Wilson of Blanchard, Oklahoma. His “adopted” daughter Amy ( Jimmy) Mooring of Blackwell, Oklahoma. Also surviving are five grandchildren Dalton Wilson, Destiney Wilson, Jakobe Wilson, Jakson Wilson  & Jace Wilson. Three great grandchildren Delanie & Addilynn Fox and Swayde Wilson-Akins. Dave is also survived by his two siblings Judy Gard of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Mark (Mary) Wilson of Blackwell Oklahoma Brother in law Jackie(Sabrina) Davidson of Lawton, Oklahoma. Tony (Suzanne )Pericle of Glenn Allen, Virginia and sister in law Rhonda (Ron) Daniels of St.George, Utah and several cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family. We would also like to mention a special thank you to his long time friends Tom Leonard, Larry Champlin, George Lockett, Jimmy Burrell and Rory ( Angie) Newland. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Dudley & Geraldine Wilson and brothers Jim & Jerry Wilson. His mother in law LaVonne Duffell .  His father in law Troy J.Davidson and his mother in law Delores Davidson. Thank you to Sarah Beth McGuires Blackwell office, Lincare (Ponca City & OKC) Sooner Home Health( Yukon) and Integris Baptist Hospital (okc) floor 901 ICU staff. Services will be at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints -Ponca City, Oklahoma on Tuesday September 26, 2023 at 2:00pm.Intermittent will be at Blackwell Cemetery immediately following the service.
