Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on May 30, 1964, to George and Charlene Thornton, Debra Lynn Thornton’s life was a testament to strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She passed away on May 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and family dedication.
She is survived by her father, George Thornton; her sister, Sharon Belair; and her brother Gerry Thornton. Debra was a proud and loving mother to her daughters: Ashley Pemberton, Amber Lara, Alisha Pemberton and Angie Pemberton.
Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren: Mackenzie Lara, Mercades Sixkiller, Jaydyn Lara, Sofia Pemberton, Talon Lara, Aubree Pemberton, and Brinnlee Owens. She was also blessed with two beloved great-grandchildren: Scarlett Sixkiller, and Paislynn Lara – each a bright light in her life.
Debra’s warmth, kindness, and deep love for her family will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she cherished most.
In accordance with Debra’s wishes, there will be no funeral at this time. A celebration of life will be held to honor her memory and the love she shared with everyone around her.
