Graveside services for Dorothy Irene Jenkins, 95, Blackwell, Oklahoma resident, will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 1, 2022 in the Blackwell Cemetery. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Dorothy was born on January 29, 1927 in Salida, Colorado, the daughter of Clyde and Marian Cavender Cheatum, and passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022 in Ponca City, She was raised in Wellington, Kansas. Dorothy married Walter G. Jenkins on May 10, 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He preceded Dorothy in passing in 2009. They lived in Ft. Worth, Texas, later moving to Woodland Park, Colorado, later to Penrose, then to LaVeta, Colorado. Dorothy moved to Blackwell in 2019. She was a member of the Feed Store Church in LaVeta. Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia and husband Harvey Brooks of Ponca City; son, Mark and wife Virigina Kowalsky of Blackwell; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in passing by her parents, daughters, Cathy Joleen and Deanna Kathleen West and sister, Eva Mae (McKern) Brooks,grandson, Lee Brooks..
