Douglas Dean Blackwell, 59, of Ponca City, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at OU Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at New Hope Christian Fellowship.
Douglas was born in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Donald and Ruth Blackwell. He was a dedicated family man who cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa (Blackwell) Crisswell and her husband Drew, and Jennifer Blackwell; and his son, Curtis Blackwell. He was a proud grandfather to Haylee Ellington, Makayla Crain and her husband Thomas Crain Jr., Noah Blackwell, Chance Webster, Seth Blackwell, Chase Pasco, and Grayson Blackwell. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Trinity, Serenity, and Kennedy, with two more great-grandchildren expected to arrive this July. Douglas also leaves behind his brothers Steve and his wife Cindy, Todd and his wife Chastity, and David, all of Ponca City, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Blackwell; his grandchild, Trinity Ellington; and his nephew, Aaron Blackwell.
