Doyle Wayne Bowen, from Ponca City, OK, passed from this life to his life in Heaven on July 2, 2021. He was 83 years of age.
Doyle was born on January 12, 1938, in Hominy, OK to Clarence and Edna (Ford) Bowen. After he graduated from Quay High School in May 1956, he worked for Pepsi-Cola and Jack Bowker Ford. Doyle proceeded to own or manage several businesses including a service station, gift store, and a Montgomery Ward Catalog store. He was a broker for Ponca Realty, owned and operated Ponca City’s Accent Gallery Gift Shop along with his wife, Judy, and was a gift salesman out of a Dallas Market showroom. After 25 years on the road, he retired. Soon after retirement, he began the battle of Alzheimer’s.
Doyle and Judy (Yocam) Smith married on November 6, 1978. He is survived by his wife Judy, of the home; his son Robert Bowen and his wife Phylis; his step-children: Shari (Smith) Henderson and husband Griff, and Doug Smith. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kaycie Childs, Sarah Bowen, and Kirt and Clay Henderson. Five great grandchildren: Justice Childs, Elliot and Annie Trepton, Clark and Cameron Henderson. He is preceded in death recently by his daughter, Linda Kay Budd. Also by his parents and brother, Bob Bowen, and sister, Jolene Bishop.
