Geraldine Frances (Finley) Arnold

Geraldine Frances Arnold, 91, of Tonkawa, Oklahoma passed on May 29th, 2021 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa, Oklahoma with her son, Charles, at her side.Geraldine was born on December 13th, 1929 to Leonard Newton Finley and Vesta Ruth (Gillfillan) Finley in Wichita, Kansas. Geraldine was the 8th of 10 children born to her parents. Geraldine loved to share stories of when she was young working in the strawberry patches for 75 cents a week and buying the imperfect ones to bring home to her mother to make desserts with. She also loved to help her brother, Bob, work on his car. She always grieved the loss of Bob in WWII but found comfort when she was able to see a picture of his headstone in France.Geraldine married Charley Jackson Williams in 1946 and they divorced in 1963. During their marriage 8 children were born, Judy, Lenard, Caroline, Kathy, Charles, Vicki, Jimmie and LaVeta. Geraldine married Jay Carl Arnold in 1966 and loved him until his death in 1981. Geraldine retired from ACC, where she made alternators for cars. She loved watching television and playing games on her tablet. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren. Geraldine was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren. When asked which of her offspring her favorite was, she always replied, “all of them”. Granny had an unending fountain of unconditional love for her family. Geraldine was proceeded in death by her husband, Jay Carl Arnold, her parents, Leonard and Vesta (Gillfillan) Finley, siblings, Mildred Darnall, Alice Finley, Helen Woodward, Robert Finley, Dewaine Finley and Franklin Finley. Also five adult children, Judy Alice (Williams) Laluk, Lenard Newton Williams, Kathy Jean (Williams) Nelson, Vicki Lynn (Arnold) Huston, Jimmie Lee Arnold and grandson, Jerry Allen Armstrong. She is survived by her son, Charles Franklin Williams of Tonkawa, OK and daughters, Caroline Williams Armstrong of Wichita, KS and LaVeta (Terry) Arnold Bowker of Hominy, OK, grandchildren Anthony (Faye) Laluk, Jennifer Laluk, Roseanna (Kelly) Gosvener, Tanya (Robert) Schroeder, Philip (Jennifer) Nelson, Matthew Nelson, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Terrie Arnold, Steven (Sandi) Corn, Tyrell (Tiffini) Bowker and Jared (Ashley) Bowker.; and one sister, Nelda Merchant. She also leaves behind 2 son-in-laws, 43 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 12th at 10:00 am at Mulvane Cemetery, 119th & Greenwich, Mulvane, Kansas by family friend, Kevin DeLong.  Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
