Gladys always kept her family well-fed although she said she didn’t like to cook! Every day, when Lee, David, and Rita would come home from school, Gladys would have fried donuts, cupcakes, cookies, or some such sweet treat, which were always quickly devoured. She was the number one cheerleader for Lee and David in baseball and Rita in tennis. Her quietness never extended to the playing field! Bill and Gladys moved back to Red Rock in 1990. They loved attending Frontier High School basketball games. Gladys would jokingly use her crooked, arthritic fingers to put a “hex” on the opposing team! Bill and Gladys always had a huge and productive garden while living in Red Rock. Gladys worked tirelessly in her vegetable and flower gardens. Her green thumb was envied by all! Gladys also loved her church: the First Baptist Church of Red Rock. She loved worshipping Jesus with her brothers and sisters in Christ there. They were all very dear to her heart.
