Jack Parker Beguin of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed on Sunday July 25, from natural causes at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas. He was 77.
Jack was born to the late Philip M and Florence E (Scurlock) Beguin on May 2, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa. For much of his childhood, he lived in Pea Ridge, Arkansas and finished his schooling in Ponca City, Oklahoma. On June 3, 1968, he married Marcia L Hendricks and they had two children.
Jack worked for Central Vacuum Systems and then in 1978 he became a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, where he worked until his retirement in May 2004.
Jack moved in with the love of his life, Kathy, in September 2002.
Jack was a member of the Moose Lodge for many years, where he enjoyed shooting pool with his brothers. He also enjoyed playing golf for many years and was on a bowling league for a time. Jack took pride in working on his lawn and garden, watching OU and OSU sporting events and frequent visits with family. He loved and adored his fur babies, Roxie and Missy. His favorite thing to do, was spend time with his grandkids and great grandkids and watch them do the things they loved. Jack was very loved and will be missed dearly by many.
He is survived by the love of his life, Kathy, of the home; one daughter, Amy Hudson and her husband, Randy of Spring Hill, KS; one son, Anthony Beguin and his wife Kelli of Ponca City; favorite step-son (only step-son) Eddie Farmer and his wife, Kathey, of Ponca City; 5 grandchildren; Annie Beguin and Parker Beguin, of Ponca City; Jimmy Farmer and wife, Mandy, of Ponca City; Katy Hudson and her husband, Doug, of Red Rock; Jordan Farmer and wife, Holly, of Ponca City; 7 great grandchildren; Reed and Trevor Farmer of Ponca City; Noah Farmer, Arleigh, Chipper, and Ryne Hudson of Red Rock; Brooklynn Farmer of Ponca City. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Also, two brothers, Jim Beguin and wife, Margie of Ponca City, and John Beguin and wife, Judy of Burlington, IA; two sisters, Julaine Ogden of Ponca City, and Joanne Yarbrough and husband, Kenneth, of Broken Arrow, OK; Sister-in-law Jane Beguin of Ponca City; brother-in-law Steve Hendricks and wife, Betty, of Ponca City.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Florence Beguin; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Elener Hendricks; one brother, Jerrold Beguin; one sister, Janita Prophet; brothers-in-law, Rusty Prophet, Leo Ogden, Clint McGinnis; sisters-in-law; Chris Beguin; Brother and sister-in-law Don and Wanda McGrew, and Bill and Alma Farmer.
The service will be held at Eastern Heights Christian Church in Ponca City on Saturday, July 31st at 10am with Mark Berry officiating. He will be inurned on a later date.
