Janet Morrison-Plank Obituary

She was worth every penny.

On July 21, 1953 a beautiful baby girl was born in Liberal, Kansas. She was everything Albert and Lenore Morrison had dreamed of during Lenore’s pregnancy. Tragically, they lost their son during childbirth just a few hospital rooms away. Lenore’s Brother-in-law adored her and could not bear to see his Nori in such pain. He knew in his heart that the beautiful baby girl in the nursery was meant to go home in the arms of Lenore. After briefly speaking to the Doctor, he paid the hospital bill and bought that baby girl on the spot for $500 cash money. It was official, that blue eyed Angel was theirs forever and they named her Janet Marie Morrison. She would truly be the light and love of her mother’s life. Jan attended school in Liberal, Kansas. A graduate of Liberal High School, Class of 1971 she was blessed to grow up in a close knit Christian community surrounded by life long friends. Continuing her education, she later earned an Associates Degree from Seward County Community College.  On May 20, 1973 Jan married Galen Bridenstine and from this union came two sons Ryan Neil and Clint Wade. An adventurer and master celebrator of life, Jan traveled and vacationed in places such as Disneyland and Hawaii. She lived life to the fullest with her family and her girlfriends. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1991 excited for a new adventure. Her mom came along as her biggest supporter and fan.  Jan spent over 30 years as a valuable and knowledgeable asset in the Financial world. During her time with the FAA Credit Union, Jan was proud to represent FAA ECU in the Moore Chamber of Commerce. She loved giving back to the community and making connections and friends in the process. She was a beloved and cherished part of her community and was known for her sparkling blue eyes and a contagious smile. Jan even spent time in the dugout as the Honorary Coach of the FAA softball team during the Children’s Miracle Network softball tournament and was proud to have her daughter-in-law on the team at 1st base. She wore that Coach ball cap proudly and cheered her heart out.  In the summer of 1999 Jan brought her new beau, Harrison (Harry) and his children Ben and Megan to meet her family. From that moment on, we were a bigger and happier family. Jan was blessed and very proud to be the Grandmother of 8 grandchildren. Garrett, Carson, Kyler, Jillian, Jesse Dalton, Jackson, Jaci and Adilynn. On July 1, 2015 Jan and Harry finally made their more than 16 year relationship official and were married. Jan stayed very active in the lives of her family at home and abroad. She was thankful to have a partner and husband who truly loved and cared for her in sickness and in health.  As she continued to suffer with poor health her youngest granddaughter, Adilynn, was a constant beam of light and energy. Jan spent many days cheering her on in dance, theatre and of course on the soccer field. Jan left this world to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, February 7, 2021. She is survived by her husband Harrison Plank, her son Ryan Bridenstine and his wife Brenda, her son Clint Bridenstine and his wife Jennifer, her son Ben Plank, her daughter Megan Plank,  her grandchildren Garrett, Carson, Kyler, Jillian, Jesse Dalton, Jackson, Jaci and Adilynn and her cousins Paulette, Alesia and Journey.  She leaves behind a family that adores her, friends who cherish her and a life well lived.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday February 13, 2021 at  Genesis Church, 623 N Broadway St, Moore, OK 73160.  Susan Seevers Officiating In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jan Morrison Plank Memorial fund through TruSky Credit Union.
