Julio Medina resident of Burbank, passed away Thursday morning January 6th, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was 90 years old.Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday January 15th at Bethesda Church in Blackwell. Interment of ashes will follow the memorial service at the I.O.O.F in Cemetery, Ponca City, OKJulio Medina was born August 22, 1931 in Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, Mexico the son of Luciano Medina Nevarez and Estanislada Acosta Luna. He received his early education at Direccion Gral. De Educacion Publica del Estado de Durango. He went on to receive his Associates in Welding at the Tulsa Welding School 1972. He married Beatrice “Pete” Carter Jan 6, 1963 at Forrest City, Ark, and her son Carter Stepp. He was a dedicated self-employed welder, who taught many others. He took his welding all over the country, which made for many interesting stories and many friends made, never meeting a stranger. He was known for and enjoyed fabricating railings, gates and Kokopelli’s. He also loved fishing, gardening, OU and OSU football, boxing, baseball, and his family. Later dedicating his Saturday mornings to spend time with his family.Survivors include his 3 children Carter Stepp of Ponca City, Carlos Medina and wife Chauntina of Ponca City, Carmen Huffman and Seth Eddinger of Burbank; grandchildren Michael Murray II and wife Jynda, Jonathan Murray, Carsha Medina, Katie Medina, Charles Q. Medina, Kara Medina, Seth Thomas Eddinger II great grandchildren; Maricela & Riley Weber, Andrew, Jadrien, Evan, Lucas, Blake, Brooks, Eliana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Carmen, Domingo, Juvenico, Consuelo, Jesus, Heriberto Medina Acosta and wife Beatrice “Pete” Medina and great grandchild Jaylah.
