Kenneth Jennings Obituary

Kenneth Leon Jennings was received by his Lord on July 2nd, 2021. Kenneth was born on November 20th, 1942, in Vinita, OK. He graduated and played football and basketball in Deer Creek Oklahoma. Kenneth married his grade school sweetheart, Carol Ann Burd, on September 4th, 1959. They raised three boys Kenny, Chris, and Cary in Ponca City. Kenneth was a lifelong employee of Conoco Oil Company retiring after 34 years of service. Kenneth and Carol enjoyed 61 years of marriage while being lifelong members of the Community Christian Church of Ponca City. Kenneth’s kids, grandkids and cows were his life. He enjoyed ranching, attending his kids and grandkids various activities and sporting events and anything Oklahoma Sooner related. He and Carol were longtime OU football season ticket holders and rarely missed a game. Kenneth had a strong work ethic which was illustrated by the many side jobs he seemed to always have while holding down a fulltime position at Conoco. Providing for his family was always priority number one. He often spoke proudly of being on a tractor plowing the dirt or driving a wheat truck at the early age of seven. Survivors include his sister, Glenda Kay Pottinger and husband Joe of South Coffeyville, Kansas. Two sons, Chris and his wife Susan of Ponca City, Cary, and his wife Lisa of Ponca City, five grandchildren, Daniel Jennings, Kristin Fasking and her husband Jonathan, Kenneth Jennings and wife Alena, Ally Jennings, and Hannah Jennings and two great granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann, and Ella Mae Jennings. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Carol,  son Kenneth Wayne Jennings, Parents Howard and Eula Fae Jennings and brother Leroy Jennings. In loving response, a graveside ceremony will be held at Resthaven cemetery, 1901 East Hubbard Road, Ponca City, OK on Thursday July 8th at 10:00 AM. Pastor Tom Howard officiating. The family has requested memorial donations be made payable to the Ponca City Senior Center, 319 West Grand Ave. Ponca City, OK 74601. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Remembrance may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
