Lorene Kennedy

Lorene was born December 16, 1935 to Noley and Viola Jones Holman in Roff, Oklahoma and passed away May 27, 2025 in Harrah, Oklahoma.

She attended several elementary schools and went to high school and graduated from Vanoss High School in Vanoss, Oklahoma.  Lorene was one of 12 children, 8 girls and 4 boys.  Lorene loved being part of a big family, there was always someone to play with and always something to do.

After high school, Lorene worked as a waitress in Ada, and that is where she met and fell in love with Bob. They were married on June 28, 1958.  The thing Lorene wanted most in life was to become a mother, so when their son Robert was born 14 months later, she was very happy.  They went on to have 2 more children, a daughter, Cindy and another son, David.  Her happiest times were being with and taking care of those children.

Lorene taught Sunday school at Moore First Baptist for awhile, worked in Bible school at Moore First Baptist and at Harrah First Baptist.  She worked in the Food & Clothing room at Harrah First Baptist and was always ready to bring food for any funeral any time she was called.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrah and the peacemakers Sunday school class.  Lorene loved crocheting, reading, exercising, watching TV, and playing with her grandchildren.

Lorene is preceded in death by her father, Noley and mother Viola Jones Holman, 4 brothers, James, Harvey, Kenneth and Floyd, 5 sisters, Sharon Holman, Alberta Griffitts, Mary Holman, Leona Holman, Opal West, and son, Robert.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Lee, daughter, Cindy Balding of Harrah, son David & wife Jassy of Harrah, 4 grandsons, Bobby Craig, Thomas, Samuel and Caleb Balding of North Carolina, 2 sisters, Thelma Bridges of Macon Georgia, Betty Victor of Ada, Oklahoma, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt and many friends and church family.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm June 3, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Harrah, OK with Pastor Douglas Jones officiating.  Burial following in Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK.
