Mark Wesley Meister

Funeral services for Mark Wesley Meister, 74, Lahoma resident, will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 17, 2021 in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel.  Pastor Brent Campbell officiating.  Committal prayers and interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Burlington, Oklahoma, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Mark Wesly Meister was born to the late Alexader “Dude” and Thadene Meister, a farmer and homemaker in Helena, Ok. Born in Hartner, Ks on October 14th, 1946. and passed away peacefully on September 11, 2021 at his residence. He was one of 10 boys born into the family. He attended school in Helena and met Carol McNabb, his high school sweetheart at a movie theatre in Canton, Ok.

Mark and Carol were married on April 27th, 1964, and settled in Chester, ok. There they raised their family of 3 children, Mark Jr., Ronnie, and Misty. They lived in a 2-story home on an old sand hill for many of their younger years. There are many fond memories and stories told about the early days under the big shade tree on that farm.

Anyone who knew Mark knows he was a force of nature when he was determined. He was very determined to provide a better future for his family and to give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything in the world.

We will always remember the family gatherings at the lake house or the Chester Ranch. “poppy” was found taking the little ones on a hay rack ride or looking for “Black Barts gold”. Those were the good old days because of Mark.
