Mary Kathryn (Boyd) Combs

Mary Kathryn "Kathy" (Boyd) Looper Combs was born to Walter Emmett and Rosemary (Boyer) Boyd on July 23, 1961, in Houston, Texas and left this earth on January 25, 2026, at her home in Blackwell, Oklahoma.

Kathy grew up in many places, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Most of her education was in Newkirk, Oklahoma and Blackwell, Oklahoma. After leaving school, Kathy married David Leroy Looper, Sr. in February 1979. To this marriage two children were born – David Leroy Jr. (Davy) and Cynthia Diane (Cindy). Several years after Cindy was born, Kathryn Leann joined their family.

Kathy continued to travel around a bit, living in Blackwell and Tonkawa, and even Kansas City. She loved her children dearly. The true lights of her life were her grandchildren. Nothing made her smile more than holding one of "her" babies.

She struggled with her health for the past several years, but now she can run, laugh, and have boundless joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Rosemary Boyd; brother, William "Bill" Boyd; her son, David Leroy Jr.; and both sets of grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Eugene Combs of the home; children, Cindy Putnam and Kathryn "Kat" Combs; Thirteen grandchildren, Mason, Maddie, Cove, Satante, Zamporah, Wahnee-ona, Lyacola, Kyanite, Ameritrine, Diamonhirre, Jax, Charles, and Christina; sister Rose Ann Kliewer and husband Ron; special life-long friends Rozell and John North and Debbie Horton, and sisters-in-law Betty Jones and husband Donnie and Loretta Rutherford; and brothers-in-law Mike, James and Cody Combs, and step-children Kaylyn Reed and Tommy Combs.
