Mary Guest Obituary

Mary Lou Guest, age 86, went to be with our Lord on Monday, September 5th, 2022.

She was born August 22nd, 1936 in Calvin, Oklahoma to Ervin Lee Strickland and Ethel Sanders. She married Joseph Angus Guest on March 11th, 1953. Mary and Joseph had 3 daughters. Cynthia Guest of Kingsport, Tennessee; Elizabeth Bailey and husband Charlie of Prague, Oklahoma; Cathy Howell and husband Rodney of Enid, Oklahoma.

Mary worked as a CNA/CMA at various nursing homes throughout her career, retiring from Stillwater Medical Center.

Mary is survived by sister Clarinda Frair, of Henryetta, Oklahoma.

Mary’s grandchildren lovingly called her Mawmoo; the name given to her by her oldest grandchild Michael Oliver of Kingsport, Tennessee. Other grandchildren include Melissa Dingus of Kingsport, Tennessee; William Oliver of Kingsport, Tennessee; Amanda Oliver of Perry, Oklahoma; Meagan Guest of Covington, Oklahoma; and April Richards of Yukon, Oklahoma.

Mary’s oldest great grandchild Caitlin Conn of Bartlesville, Oklahoma shortened her nickname to “Moo” which she has been lovingly called ever since. Mary’s other great grand children include; Zakiah Reeves of Harper, Kansas; Cynthia Leigh Oliver of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Alexia Guest of Covington, Oklahoma, Jeffery Myers of Perry, Oklahoma; Zakarie Mulligan of Covington, Oklahoma; Avery Richards of Yukon, Oklahoma. Mary also has 3 great great grandchildren and 2 baby boys on the way.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers Ervin Strickland, Dewey Strickland, Luther Strickland; sister Betty Kempton, and grandson John Kevin Oliver.

Services are being held at Stittsworth Funeral Home in Enid, Oklahoma on Friday September 9th, 2022 at 11 am.
