Merle Kreger Obituary

Merle Anne Kreger went to be with her Lord Jesus on September 24, 2020 at her home. She was 74. Anne was born to Bud and Rosemary Scott in Ponca City, OK on March 11, 1946. She grew up in Tonkawa and graduated from Tonkawa High School in 1964. On August 14, 1964, Anne married the love of her life, John Kreger. They attended college together at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Upon John’s graduation, they returned to Tonkawa to raise their family. They were soon blessed with four children. In 1976, the Kreger family set out for a new adventure and spent 9 years in Grand Island, NE. Anne made many friends and great memories in Nebraska, but Tonkawa was home. In 1985, they moved back to Tonkawa. Upon her return, Anne started a career in accounting at Conoco. She retired in 1996 to spend time with her grandchildren. Anne was affectionately called Annie by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They loved spending time playing cards and games with her. She had a gift of making each child feel special. She told them regularly that she loved them to the moon and back. Her greatest joy on earth was her family. Anne enjoyed playing bridge, watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports, attending PEO, baking, and spending time with her pugs. Anne will forever be remembered for her kindness, hospitality, work ethic, and love of others. Anne is survived by her children, Jeff and Cathy Kreger of Tonkawa, Paula and David Minx of Enid, Dustin and Andrea Kreger of Enid, and Darren Kreger of Tonkawa; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Casey and Rachel, Morgan and Aaron, Cale, Logan, Jud, Joseph, Mikaela, Joshua, Jensen, Marie, Kassidi, Kallie, and Jackson; her sister, Sally Scott of Tonkawa; sister, Shery French of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Billie Scott of Norman; sister-in-law, Ruth Schuermann of Blackwell; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Bea Kreger of Tonkawa; and sister-in-law, Bernice Raney of California; several nieces, nephews, other family members and many precious friends.
