Mass of Christian Burial for Neddy Edna Bovard, 74, Blackwell resident, will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Ben Lieun as Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Blackwell Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Rosary will be read at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening, March 19, 2018 at the church.
Neddy was born on January 15, 1944 in Mora, New Mexico, the daughter of Christobal and Amelia Silva Martinez, and passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018 at her residence. She was raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming moving to Blackwell in 1996. Neddy married Harry Bovard in Cheyenne, Wyoming in June of 1967. Harry passed away in 1995. Neddy was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was a RCIA Instructor. She loved playing bingo at the Blackwell VFW on Friday nights. Neddy enjoyed cooking family dinners and spending time with her family. Everyone called her Mom or Grandma. Survivors include her daughter, Monica Gose and husband Randy of the residence; a step-daugher, Lena Finley of Blackwell; grandchildren, Kaylee Bovard, Taryn Fixico and husband Toby, Josh Thompson, Jacob Looper, Lucky Gose. all of Blackwell, and Stephanie Sherrill of Calumet, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren (They called Neddy “OG”) Alejandro Diaz (aka, Cheeky) Ryker Fixico, and Carter Thompson, all of Blackwell; brothers, David Martinez of Cheyenne, Wyoming , Carlos Martinez of Brigham City, Utah; sisters, Suzie Gonzalez of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Marie Jenniges of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Special sister, Rosie Martinez of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Neddy was preceded in passing by her parents, brother, John Martinez, sisters, Phoebie Medina and Rita Martinez. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
