Nova Johnston Obituary

Nova Mae Johnston was born to Floyd and Barbara Hutchison in Woodward, OK on January 3rd, 1934, and passed from this earth on March 25th, 2023, in Enid, OK.  

Nova grew up in Fargo, OK where she graduated from high school in 1951 and then went on to attend Trinidad JuniorCollege in Colorado for 2 years.  She then moved back to Fargo. 

On December 12th, 1954, she married the love of her life, Ernie Johnston.  They settled in Fargo and made their home there where they raised their three daughters, Dana, Donna and Deanna.  Nova worked in Woodward for many years in retail sales with Ashley, Star Model and Sears.  Nova and her family attended the Methodist Church in Fargo where she played the organ there for 59 years. Ernie passed in November 1978. 

Nova is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Barbara Hutchison; her husband Ernie Johnston; sister, Nadine and brother Dale Hutchison and brother-in-law Charles Pope. 

Nova is survived by her sister Eileen Johnston and husband Melvin of Clinton; Donna Lee Pope of Pennsylvania anddaughters; Dana Rhodes and husband Dusty of Clinton; DonnaSmith and husband Jim Bill of Cherokee and Deanna Coryell.  Five Grandchildren; Brooke Robertson and husband Strett of Florida; Landon Combs and wife Sarah of Virginia; Clint Ream and wife Megan of Cherokee; Aaron Ream and wife Shanna of Cherokee; Allison Schultz and husband Darrin of Pond Creekand Derek Rhodes of Elk City. Along with 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.  

A private graveside service will be held on Friday March 31st at the Fargo cemetery.
