Richard Swords Jr., 77

Former Oklahoma resident Richard Swords Jr., 77, died peacefully on September 8, 2019 at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Sunset Cemetery, 6143 Joe Colby Rd, Ponca City OK on September 12th at 11:00am.

Mr. Swords was born June 9,1942, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Richard and Eleanor Swords, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1960, living nearly all his life in the area.

An accomplished auto mechanic, Richard spent many days rebuilding automobile engines and hot rods in the Ponca City area. He was employed as a master service technician for Parker Pest Control for 35 years, retiring in 2002.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila; sons, Rex (Suzette) and Shane; daughter, Shea; grandchildren; Brett, Andrea, Kaden, Skylar and great granddaughter, Jovie Grace; brother, Roy; sister, Eileen and many friends. His daughter Sherrie proceeds him in death.
