Terry Alan Freeman, 65, passed away February 11, 2026, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City with family by his side.
Terry was born July 10, 1960, in Blackwell, OK, the fifth son of A.V. Freeman and Bernis Potts Freeman. In 1963 his mother married John Ropp, who became a loving stepfather to Terry. Together they welcomed a sixth brother, John Ropp Jr.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Bernis Ropp; his father, A.V. Freeman; his stepfather, John Ropp; his brothers, Stephen V. Freeman and Michael D. Freeman; and his nephew, Cody Alan Freeman.
He is survived by his brother, Timothy L. Freeman of Braman, OK: his brother, Ricky D. Freeman of Ponca City, OK ; his brother, John Ropp, Jr and wife Marci of Grove, OK; sister-in-law Susana Freeman and sister-in-law Shelly Freeman, both of Blackwell, OK.
He is also survived by many beloved nephews and nieces: Michael David Freeman of Springtown, TX; Clayton Freeman, Jacob Freeman, Mark Freeman, and Clint Freeman, all of Blackwell; Cory Lee Freeman of Tulsa, OK; Michelle Freeman of Nardin, OK; Krystal Van Doren of Plano, TX ; Alisha Randall of Seneca, MO; Megan Cavner of Ponca City, OK; Matthew Ropp of Orlando, FL; and Emily Casada of Joplin, MO.
Terry loved the outdoors and cherished time spent at his riverfront property and his hunting land south of town. When at home, he could often be found sitting outside, quietly enjoying nature. He was known for being quiet, soft-spoken, and deeply loyal to those he loved.
After graduating from high school, Terry worked at Jerry Brown Ford and later spent many years with Southwest Cupid. He concluded his working years with the Kay County Highway Department, retiring due to declining health.
Honorary bearers will be Ralph Gummow, James Lane, Terry Paige, Farron Kindle, Gary Watkins, and Jaden Freeman.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, at 214 North Main Street in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Family and friends are invited to attend and share cherished memories of Terry.
Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
