Thomas J Morris III went to be with the Lord April 2, 2026. He fought a courageous battle of
health issues for over 12 years. Born in Pascagoula, MS on November 12, 1943, to Thomas J
and Cecil Morris. He grew up in southern Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. While
attending college in Pineville Louisiana, he was drafted into military service during the
Vietnam war. His great love of aviation fueled his pursuit of aviation in the army. He served
two tours of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. For his bravery and service, he received
the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He later continued his service in the
Army Reserves.
Following his military career, Tom moved to
Oklahoma as the Chief Flight Instructor at the
University of Oklahoma. He eventually attended
law school at Oklahoma City University,
specializing in aviation law. In 1975 he married
Jane Edwards in Ponca City, OK, and since 1994
they made their home there. He was the head of
his household who lead his family to Christ and
was a beloved Sunday school teacher. He will be
remembered as a humble and wise man of
integrity, a proud and loving father, a legendary
storyteller and author who always made life fun for
everyone around him.
Preceded in death by parents Thomas Jefferson and Cecil Aldridge Morris Jr and brothers Al
and John Morris.
He is survived by his wife Jane Morris of the home; by his daughter Deanna Morris Wilson
and her husband Ted and their children Jennifer Anthony and Sara Wilson; daughter
Kimberly Morris Pitcher and husband Richard and their children Justin Hammonds, Jason
Hammonds, Jordan Hammonds, Ashley Pitcher, and Riley Pitcher; daughter Polly Morris
Kranz and husband Zack and their children Annabelle and Caroline Kranz; daughter Sally
Morris Talley and husband Quinton and their children Eloise, Samuel, Charlotte, and
Elizabeth Talley; son Thomas Jefferson Morris IV (T.J.) and his wife Ali and their children
Selah and Jubilee Morris; daughter Nancy Suzane Morris Jesse (Suzy) and husband Aaron,
and their children Theodore and Jane Jesse; son William Vanselous Morris (Skip) of the
home. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Mauldin of Gonzales, LA and Debbie
Pucheu, Kiln, MS.
A service will be held to celebrate his life at the Big V Ranch, located at 14225 South T
Street, on Thursday, April 9th at 4pm.
