Vicky Ford Obituary

Vicky Lynn (Shaull) Ford, 65, of Oklahoma City, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was born in Pierre, SD to Walter Riley (Buster) and Iris (Bickford) Shaull Owensby on March 28, 1955. She graduated from Tonkawa High School in 1973. She was a varsity player on Tonkawa High School softball traveling team, homecoming queen her senior year, active in chorus and a cheerleader. She was also a fantastic basketball player in high school starting on varsity all three years. She led her team to district and regional championships during her senior year and to what was then Tonkawa’s first trip to the girl’s area championship. In that senior year she was the top scorer for the state, and went on to hold the single game scoring record (she scored 51 points in one spectacular game against Newkirk) for almost 15 years at Tonkawa High after she graduated.

She married J. R. Ford on December 10, 1978. Vicky welcomed J.R.’s son Casey into their lives. Vicky and J.R. had two children who were the joy and center of their life – a son, Chad Tyler, and a daughter, Kelli Rae. Their house was always a place where you went to have a great time, with fabulous parties for Halloween, birthday parties for all in their family & lots of other celebrations – the perfect hosts. Vicky dedicated her life to her children and was a homemaker for most of her life, working at Carter’s for the last several years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Buster Shaull; husband, J.R. Ford; brother-in-law Kerry Redmond; beloved niece Holly Redmond; maternal grandparents Cecil and Florence Bickford; and paternal grandparents Walter Riley (Brad) and Nina Shaull. Vicky is survived by her mom, Iris Owensby, her daughter, Kelli Ford and her son, Cash; her son, Chad Ford and wife Jessica & their 3 children: Knox, Quinn, Evie; as well as her son Casey Mankin and wife Jill of Mounds, OK and their 5 children: Reese, Gage, Drew, Reid, and Dane; sister, Debora Redmond, of Ponca City; brother Riley Shaull and wife Leslie, of Norman; and brother Randy Shaull and wife Mari of Sioux Falls, SD; as well as her special nieces and nephews: Chris Swenson, Corey Swenson, Kristy Shadid, Leslie Eicher, Brandi Nielson, Lance Shaull & Connor Shaull.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held Monday, October 19, at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, Moore, OK, with Pastor Shannon Grubbs officiating. Please remember to wear a mask and social distance. Private burial in Edmond will precede the memorial service. Arrangements are being handled by Stittsworth Funeral Service in Enid, OK.
