At Vida’s request a private graveside service celebrating and honoring her life will be held Tuesday November 25th at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Park Coliseum. Family and close friends welcome.
Vida Rose Scheffe, 80, of Enid, Oklahoma passed from this life to her eternal home on November 19th, 2025. Vida was born June 1, 1945 in Enid, Oklahoma. She was raised on a farm near Lahoma and educated in Carrier, Ok.
Vida was previously married to Willis Ray Smith, they had 4 children.
Vida loved to go camping, fishing, making macramé’ tables and dancing. She was a great cook and baker. She was a chef at Richill’s Cafeteria, downtown Enid, ok. She also owned her own Donut Shop years ago. Vida made wonderful lemon cake and all kinds of breads. Later in life she enjoyed making her baked goods and selling them at the businesses where she enjoyed dancing. Soon people were sending her orders which she enjoyed fulfilling. She loved spending money, going to garage sales and the casino. Vida had a green thumb. There were always many plants in Vida’s home, especially airplane plants.
She enjoyed watching Crime and detective shows on TV including Walker Texas Ranger.
Vida attended Bible Baptist Church in Enid.
Vida is survived by her son Randy Smith and daughter in law Deana Smith, Gloria Cash, Reta Freeman and Roger Smith. Grandchildren Andrew Freeman, Travis Cash, Marisa Word, Amanda Lewis and Nathan Smith. Great grandchildren Grady Cash, Jenson Word and Emery Word.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Olive Scheffe, sister Vonna Pecha.
