Willie McInturf Obituary

Funeral services for Willie McInturf, 84, Fairfax resident, will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 9:00 am in the Full Gospel Assembly Church (667 West Mulberry Avenue) with Brother Lewis Bernard officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Heaven gained another Angel today when Willie McInturf, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin went to meet Jesus.

Willie passed through those Gates of Pearl on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 following a long battle with cancer and his heart.

Willie was born on April 12, 1935 in Waltreak, Arkansas, but moved to Fairfax in his teens. He was the son of Albert and Azelene Garner McInturf, both deceased. On September 10, 1955, him and Evelyn Crenshaw were married in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and made their home in Fairfax, Oklahoma. They were married 57 years. To this union, they were blessed with three children, Stan McInturf and Julie of Colorado, David McInturf and wife Tiffeny of Fairfax, and Kelli Douglas and husband Branden of Pawnee. Willie was one of 8 children leaving behind siblings, Sister, Joyce McCubbin of Magazine, Arkansas, Betty Cherry of Russelville, Arkansas, and Patricia Brown, husband Calvin of Danville, Arkansas, and Glenda Horn and husband Albert of Danville, Arkansas; also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Willie worked in the oil field, and odds and ends jobs until he went into law enforcement in 1967, where he continued that career for 20 plus years. He influenced many people to take on the same career. He coached softball and baseball many years teaching kids his love for the game. Willie loved gospel music and loved to sing. Him, Evelyn and other family members began a gospel group known as “Fairfax Gospel Travelers”. They traveled many miles spreading the gospel through music and songs. Him and Evelyn loved to attend any gospel singings they could find. Willie is preceded in death by Evelyn, his beloved wife, his parents, Albert and Azelene McInturf, brothers, Bobby Lee McInturf, Carl Dee McInturf, Steve McInturf, and two grandchildlren, Stephen and Cynthia McInturf. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Brown, Eddie Brown, Danny Moore, Rodney Crenshaw,, Gary Crenshaw, and Tim Yandell; honorary pallbearers will be George Wayman, Charlie Cartwright, Tom Sayre, and Wes Reeves.Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
