Yvonne Bush Obituary

Yvonne “Jen” Jennieah Bush, 65, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on January 5th, 2023 from complications due to pneumonia.

A memorial service will be held for Jen, Saturday, February 11th 2023 at 3:00 PM. All friends are invited to join with her family at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 915 North Birch Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma, for this service.

Jen was born on August 24th, 1957 to Jack and Alberta Hensley  in Los Angeles California.  She was the oldest daughter of eight children.

She was a mother of five children and grandmother to over thirty grandchildren. When she was in her younger years she enjoyed singing and dancing with her kids. She was always a listening ear and had a way of making people feel heard and loved.

She married Ken Bush on August 27th, 2005. She loved helping take care of their horses until she was physically unable. During the last ten years as her health declined Ken’s love and devotion sustained her. Despite her challenges grand kids were always welcome and it was rare to visit her without being entertained by one.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jen had a strong faith. Even when she could no longer go in the ministry she would write letters and shared her unwavering faith with her kids and grandkids. She was always making something for someone whether it was crocheting, knitting, or making macrame jewelry. Many family members and friends will cherish the things she made and she will be missed!

Jen was preceded in death by her father Jack Hensley, her mother Alberta Rollins, her former husband George Gividen III and their daughter Yvonne Gividen, her daughter Daphney Smith, her great grandchild Caydnn Cerre-Oller, her sister Christina Wilson, and her brothers Robert & Marshall Hensley.

Jen is survived by her husband Ken Bush, former husband James Brown  and their daughter Chanel Brown, daughter Shirey Horner and her husband Jerry Horner, son George Gividen IV, her husbands daughter Mindy Hutson and her husband Dale Hutson, son Shawn Bush and his wife Fawn Bush, son Todd Bush, her sisters Cheryl Halstead & Richelle Duff, and brothers Jackie & Dana Hensley.

She is survived by many grandchildren as well: Chanel; Justus; Damian; Jennieah; Xavier; Christan; Ondrea; Patricia; Chloe; George V; Castiel; Judah; Evan; Trevor ; Randy; Briar; Collette; Spencer; Matthew; Bradley; Nathan; and great grand children: Wiselynn; Whisper; Zyrianna; Maverick; Rocker; Caitlyn; Eli; Oakley; and Penelope. She also had numerous nieces and nephews. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
