Funeral services for Melvin Harrison “Bo” Cook, 61, Enid, will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel. Committal prayers and interment will be in Munice Cemetery in Canton, Oklahoma under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Military rites will be conducted by the Vance Air Force Base, Silver Talon Honor Guard.
Bo was born on November 7, 1953 in Woodward, Oklahoma, the son of Millard and Carolyn Shannon Cook, and passed away peacefully on January 18, 2015 in Enid. Melvin joined the Air Force in 1971, stationed in Fort Lauderdale, Colorado. He loved anything to do with outdoors, e.g., landscaping, traveling, and working on the shrimp boats. In his later years, he worked in the oilfields, Johnson Construction, C & C Construction and traveled the United States working as a truck driver. Most recently, Bo worked for Stanley’s as a yardman. He was a very hard worker and was a jack of all trades. No matter the task, he would always figure it out. Survivors include: sisters, Louise Campbell (Rick) Glaser of Elk City, Oklahoma, Patty (Frank)Williams of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Beckey Sue (Alvin) Keesaman of Enid; nine nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and nepehws; three aunts, Della, Peggy and Bonita, and one uncle Gene Cook; and many cousins. Bo was preceded in passing by his wife Velma, parents and grandparents.
